Ellen Minzner, director and head coach of G-Row (Girls Row) in Boston:
Ellen found Susan while looking on the Internet for someone to help her in leadership development. Ellen says:

“I work with inner city girls (grade 7-12), teaching them how to row. I also knew that many life lessons could be taught through the discipline and teamwork of rowing. I wanted to make them a deliberate part of our program. Since working with Susan, I have developed a leadership component to our program and created an advisory board to support our efforts. Her enthusiastic support and professional advice helped me to shape G-Row into a powerful youth development program. I have grown both professionally and personally since Susan became my mentor.”

Susan views the role of a mentor as a kind a of ‘North Star’ to provide guidance and advice based on the mentor’s experience, perspective and connections.

Design the career and life you want — a career and life that will come to take care of itself as you connect with your motivations to achieve success.

  • Uncover opportunities and options for advancement
  • Increase your earnings potential
  • Maneuver corporate politics and hierarchies
  • Develop and strengthen your own network
  • Improve your decision-making ability

Susan will help you extend your boundaries, which in turn will uncover options you never knew existed. She will share her experiences to help you steer clear of pitfalls — and when dealing with career or business issues, the sad reality is that women still face greater challenges to success.

Why coaching works:

  • The coaching relationship keeps you on track and focused on the work at hand.
  • Goals become more reachable through both scrutiny and support.
  • The truth about who you are and what you want to achieve become revealed.
  • Growth is accelerated through greater awareness and disciplined action.
  • Coaching moves you from ‘should, could, would’ thinking, to actual doing and being.
