Advocating for women in tech in 2012

Happy New Year, everyone, and welcome to 2012! I got excited when I read this article, "12 tech leaders' resolutions for 2012," on gigaom.com about Padmasree Warrior, CTO of CISCO. She is one of 12 people featured in this article. Out of these 12 people, there are only two women, Padmasree and Mary Lou Jepsen, Founder and CEO of PIXEL QI.

I chose to highlight Padmasree because her headline resonated with me: "Advocate for women in tech." Padmasree says, "leadership is about putting personal energy into it." To her, women leaders need to put more energy behind mentoring and helping women in technology, which is something I strongly agree with. We need to teach these lessons to girls all around the world at a young age to prepare them for bright and successful futures!

Who are you going to mentor this year? And, how will you better prepare them to be leaders of this world?

Wishing all the best to each and every one of you in 2012!
