More women need to attend tech conferences

Today, energy is boundless. However, I'm still amazed to see the lack of female speakers at the numerous international, national and local tech conferences that go on every year. Why is that? Women make up roughly 50% of the tech workforce -- they're highly educated and awesome at what they do, but when it comes to standing at the podium, they're overlooked. Again, why? Not only are there few, if any, women speakers at these conferences, but women's attendance to these events are low as well. The latter, trust me, is an issue that organizers are very concerned about. We need more women in attendance at these types of conferences and, ultimately, more female speakers!
